This is a fantastic opportunity to join the Intensive support service. The team provides intensive psychiatric care to people with ID in the community in order to prevent hospital admissions. It led following its inception to a 70% reduction in acute admissions. The role is to provide support to the wider teams in providing mental health assessment & crisis management, in order to primarily support the prevention of admissions to the inpatient unit but also help with facilitating discharge from the inpatient unit back to the community to help the flow of the patient pathway.
We are looking for specialty doctors in psychiatry who want to join our well established & very welcoming team. This post is very well supported by two experienced consultant psychiatrists, with many opportunities to develop your experience and career.
The main duties of the role is supporting with assessments & reviews of patients referred to the Intensive Support Service (ISS) service, with Section 12 approval to support with undertaking Mental Health Act assessments. To support with clinical supervision of nursing & other medical staff. To contribute to teaching, audit & quality improvement within the team. To provide immediate cover to Medical team both in the ISS & inpatient pathways during times of leave.
Our Offer:
NHS Specialty grade £59,175 - £95,400 per annum + £149 fringe + on- call requirement
£15,000 recruitment premia over 3 years
Relocation allowance: up to £8000 subject to policy requirement
Up to £2000/year CPD allowance subject to policy requirements
NHS pension employers contribution 23.7% from day one.
