Entry Criteria for a Specialty Doctor:
Applications are welcome for the above permanent, full-time (40 hours per week) post based at St John's Hospital.
The appointment will be 10 PAs (1 WTE) and will be based at SJH. Consideration will be given to requests for part-time work. This is a new post supporting the rapid expansion of our centre. The post holder will provide an autonomous service within the Haematology and Oncology Day unit with consultant and nursing support. Responsibilities include haematology SACT prescribing and assessment, oversight of supportive therapies, and preparation/follow-up for haematology patients undergoing transplants, CAR-T therapies, etc. The main focus is haematology.
Oncology patients are treated within the same Day Case SACT Unit; the postholder will support safe SACT delivery and urgent reviews across Oncology and Haematology when needed. Appropriate training will be provided. Additional duties, such as outpatient clinics, can be considered based on the postholder's interests and service needs. The post requires cross-cover of SACT prescribing and assessment.
The post-holder will deliver an autonomous service within the Haematology and Oncology Day unit, working closely with the team to provide year-round coverage. The job plan includes attendance at multidisciplinary meetings; specifics depend on the postholder's interests.
