Chelsea and Westminster Hospital NHS Foundation Trust has been commissioned to provide TransPlus at 56 Dean Street, the first integrated gender, HIV and sexual health service by NHS England. Our vision is for an innovative and patient-centred service, based on the principle that patients must have equal access to services whatever their gender identity with reasonable adjustments to the delivery of care to match the individual’s needs and circumstances.

This post is for 12 months in Gender Medicine based at TransPlus at 56 Dean Street, Soho. Due to the high volumes of applications we receive for certain posts and depending our service needs, we reserve the right to close any adverts before the published closing date.

The specialty doctor post covers work within the TransPlus Gender Dysphoria service and wider trans/non-binary sexual healthcare based at 56 Dean Street. Candidates must have completed at least four years full time post-graduate training.

The specialty doctor will work alongside junior and senior members of staff to help manage those with gender dysphoria and sexual health needs. They will assist with the prescribing of hormone therapy, management of results, and liaison with GPs and other associated health professionals. They will be responsible for the formulation of treatment plans for those diagnosed with gender dysphoria. The service refers for the range of services described in the NHS England service specification and agrees and co- ordinates treatment plans specifically tailored to address each service-user’s goals and clinical needs.

• An assessment, diagnostic, and person–specific treatment planning service, involving the client in every aspect of their care
• Endorsement for surgical gender affirming surgeries
• Referral for facial depilation
• Referral for speech and language therapy
• Advice and advocacy to support bio-psycho-social adjustment
