A leading NHS trust in Margate is seeking an Emergency Medicine consultant to provide high-quality clinical leadership and care in their busy Emergency Departments. The ideal candidate will ensure rapid patient assessment, treatment, and adherence to standards while participating in ongoing governance and improvement initiatives. Join a committed team focused on providing excellent healthcare services in a supportive environment.
Emergency Medicine in East Kent Hospitals is at an exciting period of redevelopment, having attracted national investment to rebuild both Emergency Departments at William Harvey Hospital, Ashford and Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother Hospital, Margate. Our Emergency Departments provide innovative and fast paced integrated emergency care to a wide range of patients from East Kent. It is our inspiration to develop into an academic and research unit in emergency medicine for Kent.
The Emergency Departments, one at the William Harvey Hospital (WHH), Ashford and the other at the Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother Hospital (QEQMH), Margate, each offer a full 24 hour emergency service. The Emergency Departments are supported by co-located Urgent Treatment Centres, a 24 hour UTC at the Kent and Canterbury Hospital with a further 7 community UTCs in the region.
We are one of the largest hospital trusts in England, with five hospitals and community clinics serving a local population of around 800,000 people. Our vision is 'great healthcare from great people'. Everything we do is guided by our values: 'People feel cared for, safe, respected and confident that we are making a difference’.
We have a new way of working at East Kent Hospitals, called 'We care'. It is about empowering frontline staff to lead improvements day-to-day. We’re looking for compassionate people to be part of our improvement journey for the patients, families and carers we care for every day.
We’re on an exciting journey of transformation. With a new Medical School at the centre of our community, a focus on research, clinical leadership and making our trust a rewarding and friendly place to work, there’s never been a better time to join us.
