Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board invites applications for a Specialty Doctor in Emergency Medicine position. The role is based in the Emergency Department at either Prince Charles Hospital, Princess of Wales Hospital, or Royal Glamorgan Hospital. Candidates can choose their preferred base during the interview process.
The level of practice will depend on the candidate's experience. The post offers opportunities for CV enhancement and career development, including Life Support courses, Clinical Audit, Grand Round Presentations, Complaints Management, Care Pathways development, mentoring medical students, and bedside ultrasound.
The role offers flexible weekly sessions, including 1:5 weekend cover, with one session dedicated to SPA. Part-time work is welcome. The rota allows for Clinical Audit, CPD, and teaching activities. The post aims to broaden clinical experience and develop specialist skills in Emergency Medicine, with support from experienced consultants and instructors.

Duties of the Post
Clinical responsibilities include autonomous management and treatment of ED patients, under supervision of consultant staff.
In accordance with NHS Wales Terms and Conditions. The successful candidate must be GMC registered, with membership of a Medical Defence Society encouraged. The post is subject to medical examination and Hepatitis B status documentation.
The doctor may be required to perform duties in occasional emergencies or unforeseen circumstances, in consultation with colleagues. These duties are considered exceptional and not to be performed regularly or for prolonged periods.
