We are looking for enthusiastic Doctors to join our motivated team in the Emergency Department.

The Consultants are very committed to teaching and post-graduate training and will ensure appropriate opportunities for professional development.We are offering full or partial CESR programme tailored to your needs and we encourage you to contact us to discuss your individual requirements. We are always looking for high quality colleagues so if you decide not to CESR is not suitable for you we are would be happy to discuss a permanent middle grade position with a sustainable job plan in the Emergency Department and consideration of any other additional special interest.

Main duties of the job

The appointee will join an enthusiastic and friendly Emergency Medicine department which is an integral part of the Division of Emergency Care and Medicine.

Organisational

To act as clinical supervisor to more junior locally employed doctors and doctors in training programmes of a variety of grades and experience as appropriate when most senior on with support of the consultant. Qualifications

Essential

  • MBBS or equivalent medical qualification.
  • MRCEM or FRCEM primary and intermediate
  • Advanced Life Support (ALS) or be in the process of acquiring within a grace period of starting.
  • Completed specialist skills courses (e.g. difficult airways, ATLS/APLS, ultrasound course, etc)

Experience

Essential

  • Full Registration and a licence to practise with the General Medical Council (GMC).
  • Achieved the competences equivalent to that of a trainee who has completed UK foundation, ST1 and ST2 training or equivalent experience
  • Experience in acute and general medicine at ST2 or equivalent level for at least 12 months
  • Management of medical admissions at ST3 level

Essential

  • Minimum of 4 years post- registration experience with at least 2 years of Emergency Department experience ie. at ST3 level or higher (senior doctor, in charge at night)
  • Experience at UK NHS at ST3 or above grade
