Specialty Doctor in Child & Adolescent Psychiatry

This Specialty Doctor post is an exciting and enriching role in which you will become part of a thriving and well supported Waltham Forest CAMHS service providing mental health care to children and families in Waltham Forest.

Your work would be varied including clinical care across the neurodevelopmental, emotional and behavioural pathways with excellent supervision and support.

Main duties of the job

You will participate actively as a core member of the multi-disciplinary team (MDT), working collaboratively with colleagues including psychologists, nurses, therapists, and administrative staff.

You will provide specialist clinical input into the assessment, formulation, diagnosis, and treatment planning for children and adolescents with complex mental health needs.

Contribute to the management and care planning of young people with ADHD and emotional difficulties.

Provide psychiatric follow up care and medication reviews, including titration and monitoring of ADHD medications in accordance with NICE and local guidelines.

Act as the duty prescriber on the rota, offering clinical advice, prescriptions, and urgent assessments as needed.
