This is an exciting opportunity for a suitable candidate to apply for a specialised gynaecological pathology position at Liverpool Clinical Laboratories (LCL) as a specialist doctor for 1 year, which is part of Liverpool University Hospitals Foundation Trust.
The specialist teams at LCL are well established and successful tertiary referral centres with regional and national repute. The cellular pathology service is the specialist laboratory hub of the Cheshire and Merseyside cellular pathology network, serving as the main training centre for cellular pathology trainees, with strong academic links with the University of Liverpool. The service has recently moved to purpose-built new laboratory facilities at the Royal Liverpool Hospital, and the full rollout of digital pathology makes this an ideal time to join our dynamic and expanding department.
The appointee will have a significant role within the gynaecological pathology specialist team, collaborating closely with clinicians and other pathologists. Both established pathologists and new trainees are encouraged to apply, especially those looking to develop their careers within a respected and experienced team, and to subspecialise in a friendly and stimulating environment.
Applicants seeking full-time (10 PAs) or less than full-time hours are encouraged to apply. Flexible and home working arrangements are supported by the team.
The successful candidate will be involved in the full range of diagnostic work within the subspecialty and will have opportunities to contribute to teaching and training of junior medical staff and biomedical scientists.
