Entry Criteria for a Specialty Doctor:
A doctor appointed to this grade:
shall have full registration and a Licence to Practice with the General Medical Council (GMC);
And
Or
Applications are welcome for the above Fixed Term, full time (40 hours per week) post based in Western General Hospital.
The Western General Hospital ( WGH) is a 600 bed major teaching hospital in the City of Edinburgh and is part of the University Hospitals NHS Trust. Most medical specialities are represented as well as a regional department for Infectious Diseases, Clinical Oncology and Clinical Cryogenetics.
The Department of Psychological Medicine provides a liaison psychiatry service to in-patients and out-patients attending the Western General Hospital. We are looking to recruit to a Specialty Doctor post within the department. The post is well supervised and is suitable for doctors with psychiatric experience considering work in Liaison psychiatry at specialty doctor level. Supervision of attached junior doctors is an important part of the role along with involvement in department teaching including of undergraduates and involvement in audit and quality improvement.
Working hours are from 9am to 5pm Monday-Friday. This is advertised as a full time, 40hours per week post, however we would be keen to speak with anyone who may be interested in working less than full time also. Flexible working can be discussed and agreed between the successful candidate and the clinical management team, based upon the need of the individual candidate and the service.
