Job summary

Amazon is seeking a Specialised Software Development Engineer (SDE-I) to join our teams across the EMEA region, including the UK. The role involves building advanced software for privacy, hypervisors, or IoT devices, using state-of-the-art technologies and working on distributed systems that impact millions of customers.

You will collaborate with product managers and engineers, participate in the full software lifecycle, and contribute to secure, high-performance solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree or higher in CS/Engineering or related STEM field.
• Enrolled in a Bachelor's degree in CS/Engineering/Data Science or related STEM field.
• Experience with one or more general-purpose programming languages (Java, C/C++, C#, Python, JavaScript, Ruby, Go).
• Experience with data structures, algorithms, and OO design principles.
• Experience in embedded development in C/C++ or hardware debugging.
• Graduation between Nov 2026 and Dec 2027 or within last 24 months.
• Experience with Linux, Embedded Development, Firmware, Shell Scripting.

Responsibilities

• Develop advanced solutions in privacy, hypervisors, or IoT devices.
• Work with technologies like AWS Nitro System or Ring products.
• Design and implement software for large-scale distributed systems.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver products and services.
• Develop and optimize code for performance, scalability, and reliability.
• Participate in full software development lifecycle from concept to deployment.
• Contribute to privacy-oriented services, hypervisor, or IoT device software.
• Work on low-level system components including OS and device drivers.
• Implement security measures to protect customer data and ensure regulatory compliance.
