Amazon UK Services Ltd. is seeking a Software Development Engineer Intern (Embedded Systems) in the UK.

As an SDE intern, you will own the entire lifecycle of your code from design through deployment and ongoing operations, solving real customer problems with modern technology and contributing to scalable services across teams. The program offers mentorship, learning sessions, and opportunities to progress to graduate roles.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in a Bachelor's degree or above in CS, CE, or related fields at time of application
• Strong fundamentals: object-oriented design, operating systems, algorithms, data structures, and complexity analysis
• Experience with at least one general-purpose programming language (Java, Python, C++, C#, Go, Rust, or TypeScript)

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with cross-disciplinary Amazonians to design, build, and operate innovative products and services
• Break down complex problems into well-defined components
• Contribute to design and development of scalable, reliable services with distributed-systems scope
• Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback
• Contribute to clear and accurate technical documentation
• Use AI-assisted tools to enhance development productivity and validate AI-generated code
• Write clean, maintainable code following best practices and patterns
• Work in an agile environment with CI/CD and on-call duties
• Demonstrate operational excellence through monitoring, debugging, and resolving production issues
