Full Job Description
Summary:
The Specialist Trauma Case Manager role sits within a wider team of three key Support Workers engaged by the Creative Professional.
The Creative Professional is experiencing a period of ill-health at the moment. They are taking a break from work in the short term in order to get some much needed rest and recovery time, away from the constraints and tensions of work. The Creative Professional and their support team are looking for somebody who can come on board for a temporary period who can support them as a Specialist Trauma Case Manager.
The Specialist Trauma Case Manager will:
Track the whole picture of what the Creative Professional needs in terms of health.
Anticipate needs, being as intuitive and proactive with those needs.
Adjust support in real-time.
Advocate across the board (not just for funding).
Giving the Creative Professional a buffer from the world, so healing can happen.
This translates not just in any individual area, but in every layer that health touches, such as:
Medical advocacy (e.g. tracking appointments, drafting letters, requesting adjustments)
Executive function support (e.g. initiative to action tasks)
Somatic pacing (e.g. noticing dips, adapting expectations or plans accordingly)
Emotional buffering (e.g. shielding from systems that re-traumatise/drain)
Narrative care (e.g. remembering key pieces so that the Creative Professional is not re-teaching or holding everything)
With a mix of remote working and home visits with the Creative Professional in Barnet (London), we see this role supporting them via regular check-ins, being a first point of reference during a challenging period. The STCM will directly act on the needs in the Creative Professionals’ best-interest, whilst ‘triaging’ out additional support requests and needs to other Support Worker team members. With a small but supportive team, the Creative Professional is keen to cultivate a harmonious, inclusive, kind and enthusiastic team to support the day-to-day, as well as ongoing creative practice.
Rest and recovery is key right now. We feel that this role is essential in supporting the Creative Professional to achieve this, enabling a meaningful, productive and sustainable recovery.
Experience/perspectives desired:
We understand that this list is diverse and we would encourage candidates to apply if they feel like they cover most of these points. Your professional background may be in health, trauma, social work, safeguarding, somatic/nervous system practices, therapies, medicine, or something else entirely… We hope that the right candidate will demonstrate strong advocacy and willingness to create structures for rest and recovery.
The Creative Professional utilises a variety of communication style including in-person meetings, online video-calling and WhatsApp messages & voice notes. The successful candidate will be comfortable using a variety of communication styles in the post.
