Do you want to develop new skills and increase your autonomy? An opportunity has arisen for a Specialist Occupational Therapy technician to join the acute neurosciences Occupational Therapy team at St George's Hospital. This role will also support the maintenance and care ofof our stock of wheelchairs and specialist seating systems.
As a therapy technician you will have experience within the NHS and knowledge of the role of Occupational Therapy. The post will involve working alongside qualified Occupational Therapists to provide direct patient intervention (both one to one and group sessions), assisting with administrative tasks, maintenance of equipment loans systems, informationgathering and promotion of best quality patient care. A driving licence is useful, as you will assist the Occupational Therapist in visiting the patients' homes and be required to drive hospital cars.
We offer support, supervision, in house training and the opportunity to work in a dedicated and highly skilled therapy and multi-disciplinary team.Applicants need to be flexible, reliable, demonstrate confidence in dealing with the public and possess excellent communication skills. They will need to be able to complete tasks delegated to them as well as have the ability to use their initiative. Good teamwork skills are essential as well as basic IT skills.
