An exciting opportunity as a Band 4 Specialist Therapy Assistant within the Integrated Care Team at a leading NHS Trust. The role involves working alongside Physiotherapists and Occupational Therapists to deliver patient-centred care, managing caseloads, and undertaking functional assessments in the community setting. The successful applicant will engage in professional development and support a robust team of Senior Therapy Assistants.
An exciting opportunity has arisen within Integrated Care Team -Therapy for a Band 4 Specialist Therapy Assistant. The team is based in the community. The Team assess and treat people referred from various sources: the Hospital, GPs, District Nurses, other Health and Social Care teams. ICT Therapy treat people from the age of 16 to older adults with a variety of conditions and therapy needs in their home environment.
Specialist Therapy Assistants work with Physiotherapists and Occupational Therapists, to carry out assessments and manage their own patient caseload. They are supported by the team and have regular training and supervision.
The successful applicant will be expected to have relevant experience working as a Therapy Assistant (in the NHS Community Setting), have NVQ III in Diagnostic and Therapeutic Care or Health and Social Care (with Therapeutic Specific Units) or equivalent NHS experience. It is essential to hold a UK Drivers Licence and have a car.
To be an independent member of the interdisciplinary team in the provision of patient centred care.
Undertake functional assessments and assist in the management of patients within professional led protocols in the community setting.
Devise and implement therapy treatment programmes in the community and complete patient records.
To assist the Clinical Lead in the day to day management and co-ordination of the Senior Therapy Assistants within the Community Integrated Care Team-Therapy.
To assist in the recruitment, selection and training of the Senior Therapy Assistants to maintain a robust and competent workforce.
To assist in the supervision and assessment of competency of the Senior Therapy Assistants.
To assist in actively managing sickness absence of the Senior Therapy Assistants in accordance with Trust policies and procedures.
Administration duties to support role/ teams as appropriate.
