Job description

This role sits within Warwickshire's Education & SEND Family Help Service, a specialist service within our Families First model. The team provides targeted and preventative support to children, young people and families where SEND, neurodiversity, mental health, education engagement, school attendance or inclusion are central to the presenting need. Our aim is to provide earlier specialist support that helps prevent needs escalating to crisis, placement breakdown, exclusion, inpatient admission or the need for higher-cost statutory intervention. We work alongside Locality Family Help Teams and maintain strong partnerships with Education, SEND, Health, Mental Health and community services to ensure children and families receive the right support at the right time. We are committed to delivering child‑centred, family‑led and evidence‑informed practice. Our focus is on improving outcomes for children and young people by strengthening educational engagement, promoting inclusion, supporting family resilience and ensuring that services work together around one coherent plan. This is an exciting opportunity to join Warwickshire as we continue to embed our Families First approach. Our multidisciplinary and multi‑agency model brings together specialist expertise and locality‑based support to improve outcomes for children and families across the county. Now is an exciting time to be part of our team as Warwickshire begins to embed our Families First teams who support the young people in our County. Our approach is about locality working, multi‑disciplinary and multi‑agency teams that support the whole family. Building strong partnerships with local services, Health, Police and Education. We are recruiting for an Enhanced Team Leader (Specialist Qualified) to lead the Education & SEND Family Help Team. • Ensuring high‑quality direct work, specialist consultation and practical interventions for children and families.
  • Supporting children and young people experiencing attendance difficulties, school exclusion, emotionally based school avoidance, SEND‑related family stress, mental health escalation and placement instability.
  • Strengthening multi‑agency planning and ensuring coordinated support around the child and family.
  • Monitoring performance, quality and outcomes through audit, data analysis and family feedback.
  • Representing Warwickshire County Council at multi‑agency forums and developing strong partnerships with education, health, police, community and voluntary sector services.
