The school is looking for committed and enthusiastic teaching assistants who have experience supporting young people with SEN, although not necessarily in a school environment. You should be willing to get involved in all aspects of pupils' care and progress, be able to work under pressure, and have good communication and interpersonal skills.
We have three specific roles, all of which are full-time and start in September 2022:
In this role, you will support children under 5 years old with identified needs. The school ideally seeks someone who has previous experience in EYFS and a good knowledge of the curriculum. Training and guidance will be provided on how to effectively support individual children's needs.
In this role, you will work in a class of 6 pupils with moderate learning difficulties. Pupils have lower-level needs and can access a mainstream curriculum with additional support.
In this role, you will work in a class of 6 pupils with complex needs and profound multiple learning difficulties. Responsibilities include supporting learning and development activities tailored for these pupils, as well as providing care support such as feeding and manual handling. Previous experience with PMLD children is preferred.
This specialist school caters to pupils aged 4-19 years and adopts an integrated approach to developing pupils' potential and independence, especially those with moderate to severe and profound learning difficulties. The school emphasizes core learning, exploration, and learning new skills, along with support for employment and independent living. Recently refurbished, it boasts state-of-the-art facilities and serves the wider Jewish community in North London.
