Specialist Teacher - Newbury, West Berkshire

Full Time – £34,000 - £39,000 per annum

Are you a Qualified Teacher looking for a change of scene? Is a supportive community and environment important to you?

We are excited to have a vacancy for a Specialist Teacher to join our team at our fantastic, newly refurbished SEN school based in Newbury, West Berkshire. Our school provides education to children with SEMH needs, Autism, and ADHD, meaning we are searching for a Specialist Teacher that understands special educational needs. Our school is dedicated to supporting students and encouraging them to re-engage with their education. We want to welcome a dedicated Specialist Teacher to the classroom as soon as possible this term!

The school has just opened the doors to a newly developed building, with the aim of providing children with high standards of education and personalised support, tailored to their needs. As a Specialist Teacher, the role involves planning and delivering a varying curriculum to children with additional needs related to speech, communication, cognitive skills, and sensory/physical requirements.

Specialist Teacher Key Responsibilities:
  1. Supporting a class of 4-5 students
  2. Planning, leading, and teaching classroom activities
  3. Monitoring and recording progress both academically and against EHCP’s
  4. Working closely to keep students engaged, motivated, and inspired by linking their personal interests to the curriculum
  5. Working closely with Teaching Assistants so they can effectively support pupils

We are looking for a Qualified Teacher who is compassionate, resilient, and committed to helping pupils reach their potential. Communication skills are key; both verbal and written communication will be a big part of your role.
