A leading community health organization seeks a motivated individual to provide smoking cessation support to pregnant women in Birkenhead. The role involves delivering personalized support and collaborating with healthcare professionals, aimed at improving the health of mothers and their unborn babies. This role is demanding but rewarding in making a difference to pregnant women, their unborn babies, and their families. Using an enthusiastic approach, Stop Smoking support will be delivered using evidence-based and equitable methods, developed approach to care delivery. This will include the delivery of services within the maternity department, local community hubs, and other community venues. An essential criterion is that the successful applicant is confident in applying safeguarding procedures as necessary. It is essential that the postholder can work flexibly, independently, and as part of a team.
In this role, you'll work independently to deliver personalised smoking cessation support to pregnant clients and their families, from pregnancy through to three months post-partum. You'll collaborate closely with midwifery teams, Public Health, and other partners to ensure high-quality, evidence-based interventions in line with NCSCT and NICE guidance. Key responsibilities include developing care pathways, delivering training, issuing pharmacotherapy, and maintaining accurate records. You'll also contribute to service improvement, analyse maternity data, and support peer-led groups to prevent relapse. This post will work under the line management of the Head of Service. The role will be varied, challenging, and rewarding as the service becomes further embedded in all local communities across the borough.
Skills and Competencies Required
This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975, and it will be necessary for a disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) to check for any previous criminal convictions.
£26,000 to £28,000 a year, pro-rata for part-time.
