SPECIALIST SPEECH & LANGUAGE THERAPIST - Acute Medicine

Your role will involve working within the Speech & Language Therapy Team to deliver efficient services aligned with guidelines from the Clinical Lead Speech & Language Therapists for Acute Medical, the Royal College of Speech & Language Therapists (RCSLT), the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC), and Hull University Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust.


You will manage your own caseload of inpatients with acquired swallowing and/or communication disorders in acute medicine. We encourage applicants to specify areas of interest and express a desire to develop and specialise further.

You will be working with a team of expert SLTs providing services on the Hull Royal Infirmary's Acute Medical wards. There are opportunities to develop specialist skills in respiratory care, frail elderly, critical care, dysphagia, Videofluoroscopy, and MDT collaboration.


Join a dynamic, supportive, and forward-thinking team in a large teaching and major trauma centre with excellent facilities. We conduct regular Videofluoroscopy clinics using the MBSImP protocol and operate an established FEES service.


Continuing Professional Development is actively supported, with ongoing opportunities for service improvement, innovation, and research collaboration.
