An opportunity for a suitably qualified, registered and experienced Speech and Language Therapists to join the forward-thinking and friendly Hyndburn and Ribble Valley Therapy Team.
We are one of 3 Children’s Therapy teams working across the Pennine area in Lancashire and are committed to improving the communication skills of children and young people, while supporting carers and other professionals to increase their ability to understand and support children with communication needs. The Locality Team consists of SLTs and OTs working together.
You must have extensive experience of managing a diverse caseload of children with speech, language and communication needs. Competency or an interest in managing eating, drinking and swallowing difficulties is desirable. We work closely with families and colleagues in health, education and social care and you must have excellent communication skills to support these relationships. You will manage your own time and caseload effectively and also support assistant practitioners. We are committed to promoting professional development in all staff and you should be enthusiastic about developing your leadership skills in service innovation, supervision and line management of junior therapists and assistants.
Lancashire & South Cumbria NHS Foundation Trust provides a range of services including secondary mental health care across this area. Specialist provision comprises inpatient child and adolescent mental health services, perinatal mental health and forensic services including low and medium secure care.
The Trust also provides a range of physical health and well-being services in the community alongside a range of partners in the Lancashire, Cumbria and Sefton area.
