Specialist Speech and Language Therapist

Band 6 Specialist Speech and Language Therapist - up to full time hours available.

Are you interested in continuing to develop and extend your skills in working with adults with a range of communication and swallowing disorders in community settings? Would you like to be part of a dynamic and evolving speech and language therapy service? Are you a committed, flexible therapist who is a good team player and dedicated to professional development and quality service delivery? Are you fully dysphagia trained and able to manage your caseload independently?

If so, the Adult Speech and Language Therapy Service at BCUHB East is for you.

Main duties of the job

With our 'one team' approach, we have a range of opportunities for you to develop personally and professionally. There is a wide range of expertise and experience within the friendly and supportive BCUHB S< team. You will join a growing team of speech and language therapists and technical instructors and be supported by highly specialist band 7 S<s and our Frailty lead. There is excellent peer support.

We have regular whole team meetings. Clinical supervision is actively encouraged and there are regular CPD events and training opportunities as you continue to develop and hone your clinical skills. Access to specialist training is available via internal and external courses, as well as mentoring, attendance at regional and national CEN meetings.

There are regular therapist-led and MDT clinics including Videofluoroscopy and FEES, Joint Voice Clinics, Parkinson's Clinics and MND MDT meetings. There will be opportunities to participate in service improvements and MDT initiatives are encouraged.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Qualifications
