Role: Specialist Speech and Language Therapist at Pengwern College

Hours: Full Time 37.5 hours; part-time considered

Salary/Benefits: Up to £44,000 per annum

Are you a passionate and enthusiastic Speech and Language Therapist (SLT) looking to join our multidisciplinary team?

This unique position involves delivering SLT services and supporting individuals with Learning Disabilities and Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD), often with complex needs and challenging behaviours.

We offer a competitive salary, excellent training, and development opportunities, including full induction, clinical supervision, CPD, and service development opportunities. You will receive full support from our onsite multidisciplinary team and participate in routine service meetings with companywide SLTs.

Job Responsibilities
  • Work with individuals to maximize potential and improve quality of life.
  • Assess communication needs in various environments.
  • Implement high and low tech AAC systems based on assessments.
  • Provide functional targets and recommendations for communication success.
  • Support the implementation of therapeutic approaches across environments.
  • Respond to referrals and maintain an inclusive communication environment.
  • Complete audits and utilize the RCSLT 5 good communication standards.
  • Contribute to service development as part of the SLT team.
Candidate Requirements
  • Degree or postgraduate diploma in Speech and Language Therapy or equivalent.
  • Registered with the HCPC.
  • Experience working with individuals with Learning Disabilities and/or ASD.
  • Experience with AAC approaches is preferred.
