We're currently seeking a dedicated Specialist Speech and Language Therapist (Band 6 equivalent) to join our forward-thinking team at Nottingham Brain Injury and Neurological Care Centre.This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in delivering truly integrated, technology-enhanced, and outcome-focused care for individuals with acquired and traumatic brain injury and complex neurological conditions.

Main duties of the job

Active Neuro is setting new standards in specialist care for people with acquired and traumatic brain injury, spinal cord injury, and other complex neurological conditions. Job responsibilities

The role:

As our Specialist Speech and Language Therapist, you will:

  • Provide specialist assessment and management of communication and swallowing disorders in individuals with acquired brain injury and complex neurological conditions
  • Devise and implement evidence-based therapy programmes, working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to optimise patient outcomes
  • Maintain high standards of clinical care, aligned with national best practice guidelines and professional standards
  • Act as a Key Worker, contributing to cohesive goal-setting, coordinated therapy planning, and smooth discharge processes
  • Supervise and support junior team members, including therapy assistants and students, contributing to their development and clinical education
  • Actively participate in internal training programmes, including staff induction, mandatory training, and multidisciplinary in-service sessions
  • Adhere to all relevant professional codes of practice, regulatory standards, and organisational policies to ensure safe and ethical practice
  • Contribute to service audits, clinical evaluation, and quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient experience and outcomes
  • Safeguard individuals, promoting their safety, wellbeing, and human rights at all times
