Specialist Speech and Language Therapist

Are you a passionate and experienced Specialist Speech and Language Therapist eager to impact neurological rehabilitation?

We seek a dedicated professional to join our team at Murdostoun Neurological Care Centre, North Lanarkshire, on a part-time basis.

As a Specialist Speech and Language Therapist, you will support adults with communication and swallowing disorders after brain injuries, working within a skilled interdisciplinary team to provide tailored therapy that enhances residents' lives.

Job responsibilities

What you'll be working:

This role is 22.5 hours weekly. Ideally, on-site presence required on Tuesdays, with flexible hours for the rest.

What you'll be doing:

  • Deliver assessments and treatments for neurological communication and swallowing disorders, including referrals for instrumental assessments (VF, FEES).
  • Create and implement individualized, evidence-based treatment plans.
  • Provide training/support to patients, families, and the interdisciplinary team.
  • Contribute to service development, audits, and research.
  • Supervise and mentor junior staff and students.
  • Ensure safety and uphold human rights.
