The Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust is seeking a Band 6 Specialist Speech and Language Therapist to join the Stroke SLT team in Leeds. You will work across the stroke pathway with adults with complex communication and swallowing needs, providing autonomous clinical care within a multidisciplinary setting.

Specialist Speech and Language Therapist

Are you an experienced Speech and Language Therapist looking to take the next step in your stroke career?We have an exciting opportunity for a motivated and enthusiastic Band 6 Specialist Speech and Language Therapist to join our Stroke Speech and Language Therapy team at Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust.

Main duties of the job

This role offers the opportunity to work across the stroke pathway, supporting adults with complex communication and swallowing difficulties throughout rehabilitation. You will work alongside experienced Speech and Language Therapists, therapy colleagues, nurses and medical staff, playing a vital role in delivering high-quality, evidence-based stroke care and helping patients maximise recovery and independence.This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys autonomous clinical practice, thrives within multidisciplinary teams and is passionate about person-centred rehabilitation. You will have opportunities to develop specialist skills in dysphagia and communication disorders, contribute to service development and quality improvement, and support the learning of students and junior colleagues.Interview date: 28th October 2026
