Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital NHS Trust is seeking a Band 6 Speech and Language Therapist to join our Inpatient Stroke and Rehabilitation Team. The role is full time (37.5 hours) across Monday to Friday with weekend rota, providing therapy to stroke patients in the inpatient setting.
You will work with a multidisciplinary team to deliver evidence-based practice, supervise Band 5 SLTs, students and Therapy Support Workers, and contribute to training within our therapy structure.

Our Stroke and Rehabilitation team is a friendly and dynamic group of Speech Therapists, Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, Therapy support workers, Assistant Practitioners and Dietitian.
As such, this role offers a great opportunity to work with a broad range of professions to drive forward excellent integrated stroke care for the patient's we serve.
The successful candidate must have experience of working with adults with complex acquired disorders of communication and swallowing.
We are looking for an individual who has an excellent understanding of evidenced based-practice within the speciality of stroke rehabilitation. The ability to influence and implement best-practice, to ensure we are continuously improving the quality of services provided to patients across the pathways.
The post holder will be responsible for the clinical supervision and mentorship of Band 5 SLT , SLT students and Therapy Support Worker/ Assistant Practitioners. You will be required to deliver training within our therapy structure.
