Role

Job Title: Specialist Speech and Language Therapist

Location: Red Moor School, Lanlivery PL30 5BT

Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, overlap with core school hours (Part time hours may be considered)

Contract: Permanent (Term time only, or flexibility around full-time contract can be discussed based on your personal circumstances)

Salary: Up to £53,200 pro rata (DOE) plus £3000 Welcome Bonus (Welcome Bonus is payable as one payment of £1,500 after completion of one month and one further payment of £1,500 upon completion of your final probation period. T&Cs apply)

Note: Basic grade SALT offers from £33,000+, Specialist from £39,500+ & Highly specialist from £48,000+ *

The role details

We are looking for a Specialist Speech and Language Therapist to join our in-house clinical team at Red Moor School. You will deliver bespoke Speech and Language Therapy assessment and intervention to pupils who may have experienced developmental trauma, be neurodivergent or have SEMH needs. You will work within the OFG Speech and Language Therapy Ways of Working, guide your practice in an education setting, and take into account the requirements of professional bodies. You will hold a Speech and Language therapy caseload with support from your clinical supervisor and site lead, and contribute to staff training and consultation as required. This post suits a resilient, creative and enthusiastic individual.

Our Clinical Teams maintain a person-centred, empowering approach with safeguarding as a priority. We seek a Highly Specialist Speech and Language Therapist who shares our vision to use innovative approaches to enhance the quality of life and outcomes for our pupils.

Location: Red Moor School, Lanlivery PL30 5BT — Red Moor School forms part of our Acorn Education brand, and is an independent specialist day school for ages 5-18.

Essential Criteria
  • Recognised Speech & Language Therapy degree
  • Valid and up to date HCPC Registration
  • Registered member of RCSLT
  • At least 5+ years practicing experience at specialist level with this client group in a similar setting
  • Highly developed specialist knowledge and clinical understanding
  • Experience in multidisciplinary working across settings with some responsibility for service and team performance
  • Experience in communicating with and working with families and carers
  • Experience in developing training and in-person presentations
  • Experience in providing professional and clinical supervision
  • Experience taking part in research projects and conducting audits
  • Exceptional relationship-building, analytical and judgmental skills; exceptional communication skills; excellent time management and organisational skills
  • Advanced knowledge of core SaLT practice and understanding of RCSLT Communication Standards
  • Advanced knowledge of neurodivergence, cognitive differences and trauma-informed practice
