Job summary

Cheshire and Wirral Partnership NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Specialist Speech Therapist to work within the therapies team for low secure services. The post covers two wards (26 beds) and provides SLT assessment and intervention for patients with complex mental health needs and neurodivergence.

The role involves close MDT collaboration and meaningful engagement with patients, with post suitable for part-time working pattern under Agenda for Change Band 6 terms.

Qualifications

• Essential: Degree in SLT, HCPC registration, attendance at relevant short courses.
• Demonstrates understanding of person centred care and safeguarding.
• Interest in CPD and ongoing professional development.

Responsibilities

• Conduct language and communication assessments using structured and unstructured methods.
• Develop and implement communication plans for service users and staff.
• Support autism strategy implementation within the service.
