Job summary

Cambridgeshire and Peterborough NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Band 6 Specialist Speech and Language Therapist to join the Adult Learning Disability Intensive Support Team. You will provide specialist assessment, intervention and consultation for adults with learning disabilities and complex communication needs, including work across community and inpatient pathways.

You will operate within a multidisciplinary team, maintain HCPC registration, and contribute to discharge planning and service

Qualifications

• Experience working with people with learning disabilities and/or autism.
• Confidence in assessing and supporting individuals with complex communication needs.
• Ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Passion for person-centred care and improving outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Provide specialist assessment, intervention and consultation for adults with learning disabilities in IST and inpatient services.
• Deliver person-centred care and support positive outcomes, including admission prevention and safe discharge planning.
• Offer specialist dysphagia management and communication support as part of the team.
• Maintain HCPC registration and adhere to RCSTL guidance; manage a caseload and contribute to audit and service development.
