Specialist (Senior) Care and Support Worker – South Somerset

As a Specialist Care and Support Worker, you will work closely with the Team Manager to support a team of Care and Support Workers. You will be required to travel to our Extra Care Housing schemes in South Somerset, including Yeovil, Illminster, Chard, and Crewkerne.

Requirements:

  • Must have a full valid driving license and own vehicle.
  • We cannot offer sponsorship for this role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supporting customers with appointments, shopping, meal prep, and daily routines such as washing, dressing, and personal care.
  • Mentoring and supporting team members to deliver high-quality care enabling customers to remain in their homes.
  • Conducting quality monitoring visits, addressing issues, and updating the Team Manager.
  • Designing and setting up care packages, conducting assessments and reviews to tailor care to individual needs.
  • Providing standby cover for out-of-hours service.
  • Managing concerns raised by team members appropriately.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Passion for making a difference.
  • Ability to lead, motivate, and engage a team.
  • Level 2 in Care or equivalent.
  • Background in care or similar environment.
  • Experience working as part of a team.
  • Good communication and organizational skills.
  • Flexibility to work across shifts, including weekends.
  • Valid driver’s license and own vehicle.
