Job Title: Specialist SEN Teacher - Autism Resource Base
Location: Banbury, Oxfordshire
Start Date: September 2025
Salary: 31,650 - 49,084 (MPS/UPS, dependent on experience) + SEN Allowance
Contract: Full-time, permanent

An inclusive and welcoming primary school in Banbury is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Specialist SEN Teacher to join their Autism Resource Base (ARB) from September 2025. This is a full-time, permanent role, ideal for a qualified teacher with a passion for supporting children with autism and complex needs.

You will be joining a nurturing and collaborative team, led by a highly respected and supportive Headteacher and Senior Leadership Team. The ARB offers a small class environment of 10 pupils or fewer, with two experienced TAs providing additional classroom support.

What you'll be doing:

  • Planning and delivering tailored, engaging lessons that meet EHCP outcomes
  • Using specialist strategies and visual supports to promote communication and independence
  • Creating a structured and supportive learning environment for autistic pupils
  • Leading on behaviour management and emotional regulation techniques
  • Working closely with families, therapists, and outside agencies
  • Monitoring pupil progress and contributing to review meetings and reports

What we're looking for:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) - Essential
  • Experience or a strong interest in SEN, autism, or specialist settings
  • A calm, patient, and reflective approach to teaching
  • Knowledge of strategies such as TEACCH, PECS, or Makaton (desirable but not essential)
  • Strong communication skills and a team-focused mindset
  • Commitment to inclusive education and pupil-centred learning
