Contract Type: Permanent
Salary : £28,690.00 - £37,126.37

Make a Difference in the Lives of Young People

Are you passionate about supporting young people to make informed choices and lead healthier lives? Do you have experience working with young people in education, welfare, or drug and alcohol services?

Waythrough is looking for a dedicated and experienced Specialist Schools Co-ordinator to join our team at Bromley Road. This is an exciting opportunity to help shape and deliver an innovative approach to drug and alcohol education, supporting young people to understand the risks associated with substance use and build healthier relationships.

Working collaboratively with local schools, you will help create engaging, informative, and age-appropriate sessions covering drugs, alcohol, and healthy relationships. You will also support teachers, parents, and other professionals by providing guidance, training, and practical resources to help them confidently address these important issues.

At Waythrough, we take a bio-social approach, recognising the range of factors that influence a person’s health and wellbeing. You will play a key role in bringing this approach to life, helping schools create safe, supportive environments where young people can thrive.

About You

We are looking for someone who is enthusiastic, approachable, and committed to improving outcomes for young people.

Ideally, you will have:

  • Experience working as a drug and alcohol worker, school welfare officer, student support worker, or in a similar role.
  • A good understanding of the challenges young people face in relation to drugs, alcohol, and substance use.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to deliver engaging presentations, workshops, and training sessions.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build positive relationships with young people, schools, parents, and other professionals.
  • An understanding of local support services and treatment pathways for drug and alcohol-related issues.
  • Relevant qualifications in counselling, social work, education, or a related field would be an advantage.

Above all, you will be passionate about helping young people make informed decisions, reducing the harms associated with substance use, and promoting positive health and wellbeing.
