A major healthcare provider in the UK is seeking a Specialist Safeguarding Midwife to provide expert support for maternity safeguarding concerns. The role involves working closely with midwives and obstetricians, attending safeguarding meetings, and fostering a culture of professionalism. Ideal candidates will be Band 5 or above midwives with strong clinical practice and leadership skills. This position offers the opportunity to improve patient care within a large healthcare trust.
The Specialist Safeguarding midwife will be an expert practitioner from whom all clinical staff can seek advice and support on maternity safeguarding concerns. The post holder will support the delivery of robust safeguarding planning to protect vulnerable groups of women and babies, identifying risk and contributing to birth planning. The role will contribute to the All Age think family duty, delivery safeguarding training, and improve quality of care to patients.
Applicants should be a Band 5 or above midwife with experience in safeguarding, strong clinical practice, leadership, and facilitation of learning. The role requires commitment to safeguarding legislation and national guidance.
