Job description

Dunnington C of E Primary School is seeking to recruit a passionate, resilient, and empathetic Level 3 Teaching Assistant to work within our Specialist Resource Provision starting in September 2025.

We aim to appoint an experienced, highly motivated, and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant for 30 hours per week. The role involves supporting pupils with EHCPs with SEMH.

The successful candidate will have a passion for supporting children with additional needs and be able to adapt to their needs using their initiative. A nurturing approach and the ability to develop supportive relationships with pupils are essential.

We plan to appoint 2 Level 3 Specialist Teaching Assistants.

The successful candidate will:
  1. Be creative, understand how children learn, and form excellent relationships with pupils, parents, and colleagues.
  2. Have experience working with pupils with significant needs, primarily within the resource provision, but also willing to work within a whole class setting if needed.
  3. Work with children who have additional needs (SEND) and undertake duties supporting their education and well-being.
  4. Maintain high standards and use strategies in liaison with the teacher to support pupils' full potential.
  5. Prepare, maintain, and use equipment/resources to deliver planned and relevant learning activities.
  6. Possess strong organisational and interpersonal skills.
  7. Be energetic, enthusiastic, and positive.
  8. Be passionate about working with children with SEND needs.
