University Hospitals of North Midlands NHS Trust is looking for an experiencedand enthusiastic Renal dietitian to work alongside renal dietitians leading the Renal Dietetic service in Staffordshire and South Cheshire to cover a maternity leave
The post will be based at Royal Stoke University Hospital Stoke on Trent but will also work a minimum of 1 day week at Crewe renal unit and 2 days month at County HD unit.
The successful applicant will be working as part of the multidisciplinary team and will work closely with an established team of 7 renal dietitians and Dietetic Department team of 64 dietitians.
The Renal Department at the University Hospitals of North Midlands care for the needs of the Staffordshire and South Cheshire population.The department has 11 Nephrologists and is supported by Clinical Nurse specialists.
The Renal Dietitians are well established and respected by the Renal MDT.
The department is supported by administration & clerical staff. The Trust operates a flexible working policy.

The post holder would take a lead with the Dietetic cover for the HD and CKD service across Staffordshire and South Cheshire with the help from the other members of the team. They will also share cover at Royal Stoke which may include the acute renal ward, critical care and some clinics.
You will develop and take part in patient education events, student training and staff teaching and support the team in audit and service developments. This post is ideal for a dietitian wishing to develop their skills in Renal Dietetics and leadership.

Assesses and treats own specialist caseload of patients/clients and maintains associated records.
To develop and maintain links with local specialist patient support groups.
To liaise with dietitians within the team and ensure overall prioritisation of workload within the team supporting other members as appropriate.
Works in a variety of both inpatient and outpatient settings, which will include satellite units responding to referrals in a timely manner as per clinical need. Assesses and treats own specialist caseload of patients/clients and maintains associated records.
Works to HCPC registration standards.
Provides patient centred nutritional care, tailored to patient needs, ability and understanding.
Provides continuity of care across stages of chronic kidney disease (CKD).
To work as part of the multi-disciplinary team providing therapy input to patients in renal and to liaise with other disciplines and agencies as required in the planning and implementation of patient care.
To liaise with and work as an integral member of the multi-disciplinary team, building and maintaining effective working relationships within the Trust and the health economy.
Liaise with dietitians from other Trusts and other Healthcare professionals concerning patient treatments and progress with dietary regimens, depending on the patients clinical condition and need.
