Surrey County Council is seeking an innovative Reablement Therapy Lead to enhance the Reablement Service. This role involves managing a team, collaborating with various partners, and implementing strength-based approaches to support residents in promoting wellbeing and independence. The ideal candidate will hold HCPC registration and have experience in mental health or learning disabilities.
The starting salary for this position is £52,947 per annum based on a 36-hour working week.
We are looking for an innovative Reablement Therapy Lead who will work alongside the Therapy Manager, senior managers and Area Occupational Therapy Leads to implement the management of the Reablement Service.
Please note that later this year the Team will be moving from Fairmount House in Leatherhead to Mole Valley District Council's office in Dorking, where several of Surrey's Adult Social Care teams are based.

About the role
In this role you will provide expertise knowledge, guidance and advice to Occupational Therapists, specialist workers and Reablement workers within the service and understand how to embed and ensure staff use a strengths-based approach in their assessment and intervention of every service user.
You will work alongside the Reablement Transformation team to support and roll out changes to improve the service, as well as with partners across the Council's locality teams and hospital teams, focusing on ensuring we support residents and reduce the need for long term support. You will also support preceptorship Occupational Therapists and Occupational Therapy Trainees and take a lead role in facilitating training sessions for Reablement staff.
This role includes overseeing the Mental Health and Learning Disability and Autism pathways within Reablement, taking responsibility for the Occupational Therapists and specialist workers that work within the specialist pathways. You will also support the teams in managing an increase in referrals to the specialist pathways as part of the transformation project being carried out and will also support the triaging committee to continue to accept appropriate referrals and provide training to ensure our specialist workers are upskilled.
