Job description

Overview

We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Radiographer to join the General Radiography team at Withybush General Hospital. The successful candidate will be an experienced, skilled practitioner who is adaptable, well-organised and demonstrates strong leadership qualities.

The Radiology department at Hywel Dda University Health Board has benefited from Welsh government investment, with many pieces of equipment brand new and further upgrades planned. Modalities include two CT scanners, MRI, Nuclear Medicine, Ultrasound, General and A&E X-ray rooms and Fluoroscopy. The department is small but dynamic with opportunities for role extension and post-graduate study.

Main duties

You will work within the General X-ray area, imaging scheduled outpatients and walk-in GP patients, minor injuries, accident and emergency patients and inpatients. Rotation through theatres and mobiles, fluoroscopy and CT is possible, with potential to work at community sites including Tenby Cottage Hospital. Participation in the out-of-hours on-call system is mandatory. Welsh language ability is desirable; English and/or Welsh speakers are welcome to apply.

Qualifications and Experience

Essential

  • BSc Radiography (or recognised equivalent)
  • HCPC registration

Desirable

  • Understanding of specialist radiography procedures and PACS
  • Postgraduate qualification
  • Postgraduate certificate in mammography

Experience

  • Qualified to use different equipment and X-ray techniques
  • Radiographer skills
  • Substantial experience in specialist examinations (CT/MR)
  • Supervising and training Radiographers

Desirable experience: Previous NHS experience and evidence of role development.

Language

Desirable: Welsh Speaker (Level 1).
