Job Description

Vergo Pest Management Ltd is currently looking to recruit a Specialist Proofing Technician to work in the Gloucester and Cheltenham area. Full training will be provided, making this position suitable for candidates with experience in General Maintenance, Grounds Work, Construction, Shop Fitting, or Handyman roles. The primary responsibility is to implement protective measures within allocated sites.

Salary: £28,105.08 per annum, depending on experience and qualifications.

As a key member of the Specialist Proofing Team, you will undertake projects at commercial, residential, and government sites throughout the UK. The role involves travel to various sites, assisting with or conducting specialist proofing works, vegetation control, hygiene treatments, and wildlife culls. Night work will be required.

Main duties include:

• Rodent proofing work.
• Proofing installation for avian management, including wires, spikes, and netting.
• Wildlife management by culling.
• Weed control using herbicides and mechanical methods.
• Transporting and disposing of hazardous waste efficiently, ensuring no contamination of air, land, or water sources.
• Completing job work contracts professionally, within specifications and budget.
• Attending training sessions and undertaking online modular training as required.
• Maintaining tools, equipment, and vehicles.
• Ensuring a safe working environment and high hygiene standards in the workshop and stores.
• Performing any other duties as required by the business.

Essential criteria:

• Full UK Driver's License.
• Good communication skills (written and verbal).
• Residence within a 30-mile radius of the advertised area.
• Ability to work independently and effectively with minimal supervision.
• Methodical and systematic approach to work.
• Excellent attention to detail.
