Le NHS recherche un podiatre spécialisé pour son projet dédié aux sans-abris à Tower Hamlets. Le candidat retenu s'engagera dans des soins de plaies actifs et interagira avec divers cas cliniques au sein d'une équipe multidisciplinaire. Une expérience dans le traitement de complications liées au diabète est privilégiée, et le candidat participera à des cliniques d'ulcères ainsi qu'à la chirurgie des ongles. Des qualifications requises incluent un BSc (Pod), un an d'expérience, et une inscription HCPC.

Job description

Specialist Podiatrist - Homelessness Project

We are seeking an experienced, enthusiastic, and innovative podiatrist to join our Specialist Podiatry Service in Tower Hamlets. The role involves working within community clinics, domiciliary settings, homeless clinics, and Mile End Hospital.

The successful candidate will participate daily in our Emergency Clinic at 8:30am, Monday to Friday, which provides gold-standard active wound care.

Main Duties

We are committed to improving service user care, experience, and outcomes. The role requires flexibility and teamwork within a multidisciplinary community foot health services team. You will offer specialist assessment and treatment through a holistic approach to a diverse and complex caseload.

Your responsibilities include treatment planning for foot complications related to diabetes, vascular, and ischemic conditions, and being part of the foot protection team managing foot ulceration. Opportunities include participating in nail surgery and ulcer management clinics.

Education/Qualifications/Training
  • BSc (Pod) or equivalent
  • One year's postgraduate experience
  • Current HCPC registration
  • UK Driving License
Experience
  • Postgraduate experience with high-risk patients, diabetics, or willingness to develop this expertise
  • Experience with complex pathologies and treatment planning
  • Stock management experience within a budget
Knowledge and Skills
  • Advanced hands-on treatment skills for high-risk patients
  • Equipment maintenance and reporting needs
  • Stock storage per COSHH guidelines
  • Caseload management and effective administration
  • Ability to develop and communicate treatment plans, obtain consent, and handle complex communication issues with cultural sensitivity
