Job summary

The Northern Care Alliance NHS Foundation Trust in Oldham is seeking a Band 6 Specialist Podiatrist to join our Podiatry Service. You will provide expert assessment and treatment for high-risk foot conditions across community clinics and domiciliary visits, delivering evidence-based care in multidisciplinary team environments.

Qualifications

• HCPC registration is required.
• State registered podiatry diploma or degree in podiatry.
• Clinical educator.
• Postgraduate training in wound management, vascular, diabetes, MSK, rheumatology.

Responsibilities

• Provide expert assessment, diagnosis and treatment for high-risk foot conditions.

Main duties of the job

As a Band 6 Specialist Podiatrist, you will:

• Provide expert assessment, diagnosis, and treatment for patients with high-risk foot conditions.
• Deliver evidence-based care in a variety of settings, including community clinics, domiciliary visits, and multidisciplinary team environments.
• Contribute to service development and quality improvement initiatives.
• Support and mentor junior colleagues and students

Person specification

Registration & Qualifications

• Registration with Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC)
• State Registered Podiatry Diploma or Degree equivalent qualification in Podiatry
• Clinical Educator
• Evidence of post graduate training in speciality area – including e.g.: Wound Management; Vascular; Diabetes; MSK Therapy and Rheumatology

Knowledge and Skills

• Extensive experience working within speciality
• Ability to complete neurological, vascular, nail surgery and woundcare assessments
• Experience working within speciality area eg MSK High Risk, Nail surgery
• Experience of managing a caseload of clients with complex needs
• Experience of problem solving
• Good IT skills. Working knowledge of Microsoft office applications
• Evidence of working in a multidisciplinary environment
• Evidence of working with people with multiple needs
• Capability to manage own workload without direct supervision
• Knowledge of clinical governance
• Knowledge of relevant NICE and clinical guidelines
• Supervision of junior staff and students
• Experience of participating in service development
• Post graduate training in speciality area eg wound mgmt,vascular, diabetes, MSK
