Role Summary
Royal Devon University Healthcare Trust Northern Podiatry Service has an exciting opportunity for a specialist podiatrist to join our innovative, supportive and friendly podiatry team.
We are looking for a podiatrist who is enthusiastic, has good communication skills, the ability to work independently and make a positive contribution to our team.
The successful candidate will be expected to work in clinics across North Devon and occasionally in the patient’s own home, along with rotations through nail surgery, ulcer clinics, MSK, and our multidisciplinary footcare team.

As a Specialist Podiatrist, you will provide specialist footcare to groups of patients with a wide variety of clinical needs, including high-risk feet, foot wounds, MSK conditions, and minor surgery. This may include rotations into specialist areas, such as the acute diabetic foot clinic.
The post holder is responsible for planning and managing their own caseload, working autonomously, and being legally accountable for all aspects of their clinical work. This includes assessment, diagnosis, and care plan implementation, working independently and as part of multidisciplinary teams.
The role involves working in various settings, including hospitals, clinics, and patient homes, and participating in virtual/telephone clinics and triaging.
The post holder will supervise and mentor lower-grade staff, volunteers, apprentices, and students, supporting their professional development.
They will also contribute to service development projects and support senior management tasks.
