Where will you be working?
As an organisation, there is little we don’t do and plenty to get involved in. Our Group Support roles are vital in making sure we can help over 11,000 people deliver essential infrastructure seamlessly across water, energy, transport and telecom.
This role is in our Plant & Fleet department, our Plant & Fleet supports teams across our business with their vehicle, plant and specialist equipment needs, offering hire solutions that are commercially effective, reliable, safe and compliant.

What will you be doing?
In this role, you'll take the lead in ensuring all Specialist Plant and accessories are not only fit for purpose but also consistently meet all relevant inspection requirements—both at the point of issue and while in use across the UK. You'll play a crucial part in supporting the successful delivery of projects by making sure resource planning is spot-on and our teams have the expertise they need when they need it.
Your commitment to safety and efficiency will shape how we work, with regular audits carried out across our depots and project sites to ensure a high standard of working conditions for everyone. As a champion of innovation, you’ll drive ongoing improvements across the Plant department—whether that’s through fresh ideas, safer ways of working, or more efficient processes that benefit both the team and the environment.
People are at the heart of this role, and you’ll take pride in building and leading a team that’s flexible, responsive, and aligned with the company’s wider goals—all while keeping a close eye on the budget. You’ll also maintain strong, productive relationships with suppliers and contractors through regular visits and active performance monitoring, ensuring we continue to raise the bar.
Finally, you’ll take ownership of the forward planning of Specialist Plant, helping to forecast income, availability, and purchase needs with accuracy and confidence.
