Job Overview

We have an exciting opportunity in Hywel Dda University Health Board in Pembrokeshire for a static Band 6 Specialist Physiotherapist in our Medical / Respiratory team.

The team provides specialist cover to ITU/HDU; CCU; Medical wards; ED and admissions wards.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, positive, and motivated individual with the skills to motivate and engage with patients, work independently, lead, support supervision and training, and collaborate effectively within a team.

Relevant recent work experience within Physiotherapy Services is desired. The candidate should possess high-level respiratory skills to provide leadership to the on-call service.

The University Health Board supports training and development through internal and external CPD.

Main duties of the job

The successful candidate will work within respiratory and medical pathways, including inpatient ICU and ward rehabilitation. Clinical decisions will be based on evidence-based practice, comprehensive assessment, and reasoning skills.

You should have excellent interpersonal skills to network with colleagues across sectors, organizational ability, and a commitment to service development through audit, clinical effectiveness, and research.

There may be an expectation to deputize for senior management.

As an experienced postgraduate, you will have a broad clinical grounding, work autonomously managing a diverse caseload, and collaborate with the MDT in managerial and clinical roles.

The role includes providing clinical leadership, expertise, and supervision to junior staff and students, with a strong educational component.
