There is an exciting opportunity for a dynamic, specialist physiotherapist with experience or a burning interest in Pelvic Health Physiotherapy to join our team at University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay . A development post from band 5 to 6 would be considered for the right applicant
The post will be based at Furness General Hospital , working closely with the Cross- bay team. The post holder will manage a caseload covering Obstetrics inpatients/ outpatients , Gynaecology inpatients / out-patients and group work. This also includes in-patient week end working and on-call
The team work closely with the urogynaecology MDT, consultants, midwives and GPs. The post holder will support the development of Pelvic Health physiotherapy colleagues in the cross bay team.
The Cross bay team includes 3 Advanced Physiotherapists and a team of Specialist Physiotherapy colleagues across the sites.
The trust is involved in PPHS NHS improvement programme and is currently a implementer site. An element of your role will include working within this project.
You will be responsible for sharing the clinical case load of the Pelvic Health team, assisting the implementation of service development in line with current evidence and standards and training for physiotherapists, students and the wider MDT.
The role will include both in and out-patient activity with some group work.
Duties will include supporting the Advanced Physiotherapists in team development, audit, projects and service change
The successful applicant will be an effective team player, have the ability to use their initiative and communicate with empathy. They will embrace innovation and integrated working and be committed to following the best practice to ensure patient centredcare.
Previous experience is desirable
You will be expected to be a member of the week end working rota, also providing public holiday cover.
We operatefrom three main hospitals-Furness General Hospital (FGH) in Barrow, the Royal Lancaster Infirmary (RLI), and Westmorland General Hospital (WGH) in Kendal, as well as a number of community healthcare premises including Millom Hospital and GP Practice, Queen Victoria Hospital in Morecambe, andUlverstonCommunity Health Centre.
FGH and the RLI have a range of General Hospital services, with full Emergency Departments, Critical/Coronary Care units and various Consultant-led services.
WGH provides a range of General Hospital services, together with an Urgent Treatment Centre, that can help with a range of non-life threatening conditions such as broken bones and minor illnesses.
All three main hospitals provide a range of planned care including outpatients, diagnostics, therapies,daycase and inpatient surgery. In addition, a range of local outreach services and diagnostics are provided from community facilities across Morecambe Bay.
