Overview

The post holder will be based within the Rehabilitation Unit at St Mary's Hospital and will include both in‑ and out‑patient work across maternity and gynaecology. Applicants are required to have previous pelvic health experience and aim to advance these skills with support. This post offers excellent facilities and support for continued professional development. The successful applicant can be assured of supervision, training and development within a supportive team, as well as opportunities to develop research ideas and attend academic and clinical meetings. It is an ideal opportunity for anyone wishing to develop their pelvic health clinical skills whilst being able to contribute to clinical effectiveness within the Trust. A flexible attitude and excellent interpersonal and team‑working skills are essential. The post holder will be expected to support weekend working as part of the role.

The service accepts referrals from acute, primary and secondary care providers.

Key Responsibilities
  • The successful candidate will carry an independent caseload of both Urogynaecology and Obstetric patients and be able to support the Band 7 Physio with the planning, organisation and delivery of in‑patient care on both the Gynaecology and Obstetric wards. They will deliver a high standard of evidence‑based physiotherapy.
  • Delivery of evidence‑based physiotherapy management of patients with pelvic health presentations.
  • Supervision of less experienced staff, example B5's and assistants.
  • Clinical mentorship of student physiotherapists.
  • Service development projects, such as audit and quality improvement programmes.
  • Participate in weekend Saturday rota as applicable.
