An exciting opportunity for an experienced Physiotherapist, with an interest in Obstetrics, Gynaecology, Urology and Colorectal conditions has arisen, to join our friendly team. This post is to provide a highly skilled and specialised physiotherapy service in predominantly an outpatient setting. You will be responsible for providing a service to women and men with bladder, bowel, and pelvic floor disorders as well as providing an obstetric service which will include the provision of classes. You should be a member of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy with HCPC registration and have at least 2 years post graduate NHS experience as a Physiotherapist. The successful applicant will need to demonstrate appropriate CPD activity.
All applicants should be able to demonstrate skilled assessment and treatment techniques, clinical expertise and effective decision making. You will be enthusiastic, hardworking and motivated with excellent clinical, organisational and time management skills. Strong communication skills are essential as a great deal of empathy and patience is required due to the nature of the conditions seen. A flexible approach to day-to-day tasks is essential, to meet the demands of the service. Our philosophy is to keep the patient at the heart of everything we do. You will be expected to participate in audit projects and must also demonstrate a strong commitment to the training and clinical supervision. You will be expected to help maintain a stimulating learning environment including involvement in the in-service training programme.
The successful candidate will:
Deliver a high standard of evidence-based care
Be able to carry out complex holistic assessments
Make prompt clinically reasoned decisions
Participate in the discharge planning process
Supervise staff within the team and students on placement
Have a minimum of 2 years post graduate experience
Have evidence of post graduate training
Be able to work flexibly and adapt to changing working patterns as required.
Have a working knowledge of a broad range of conditions with proven clinical skills in this specialist area

Providing adult community services for St Helens and a wheelchair service in Chorley, South Ribble, and West Lancashire. Our inpatient unit at Newton Community Hospital is where patients needing acute hospital beds can continue rehabilitation. We also provide urgent care at our Urgent Treatment Centre located in St Helens town centre.
Specialist Regional Services
We provide the Mersey Regional Burns & Plastic Surgery Unit at Whiston Hospital and the Spinal Injuries Unit at Southport Hospital to more than 4 million people across the whole of Merseyside, West Lancashire, Cheshire, Isle of Man and North Wales.
