Overview

Are you a band 5 or 6 looking to gain further experience in the acute setting? We have an exciting opportunity for a Band 6 Physiotherapist to join our friendly, innovative and dynamic Therapies team at Kettering General Hospital. We welcome applications from Physiotherapists who are looking for full-time, part-time hours and secondment opportunities. This is a 4 months fixed term post. The post holder will be within a roaming therapy team providing expertise and assessment to the discharge hub, escalation areas and medically fit ward/areas with complex therapy needs impacting discharge.

Responsibilities

• Be the therapy representative at discharge hub meetings - providing consistent, expert therapy advice to inform accurate and appropriate hub decisions first time.
• Provide advice and support to ward therapists on complex cases delaying discharges (identified via discharge hub, bronze, stranded or therapy staff themselves).
• Provide therapy cover to escalation areas - ensuring these are prioritized equally to the base wards.
• Provide additional senior therapy decision maker on the medically fit wards to enable positive risk conversations and improve flow.

Qualifications

Essential

• Educated to HCPC Registered Physiotherapist level or equivalent level of education, training or experience
• Evidence of Post graduate CPD, including attendance at recent relevant post graduate learning events

• Up to date with professional practice and research
• Education of other MDT members
• Understanding of legal responsibilities
