Job description
Overview

We are looking for a Specialist Physiotherapist to join our supportive multidisciplinary team. We provide specialist physiotherapy assessment, treatment, and management for adults with Cystic Fibrosis across hospital, clinic, home and virtual care settings. We offer inpatient and outpatient services along with 24/7 access to expert advice for clinicians and people with CF via our on-call service. Working across our York and Hull sites, you'll be part of a team committed to equitable, evidence-based care and continuous service improvement.

Responsibilities
  • To undertake specialist physiotherapy assessment and management of people attending the York Hull Adult Cystic Fibrosis Centre.
  • To determine clinical diagnosis/need and deliver physiotherapy intervention as indicated.
  • To provide support, specialist advice and training to other members of staff and students.
  • To act as a resource within the department and Trust, providing specialist information and advice regarding patients.
  • To maintain records as an autonomous practitioner in accordance with legislation, professional and service policy.
  • To provide support to other colleagues when dealing with this group of patients.
  • To be responsible for a defined area of service working without direct supervision. Clinical work is not routinely evaluated, however clinical work will be evaluated in line with Trust and service objectives. Access and advice is available from senior professional colleagues if required.
  • Initiate evidence-based audit and projects to evaluate and improve clinical practice. Initiate and evaluate user involvement and where appropriate make local service changes.
Qualifications
  • Expertise in respiratory physiotherapy, ideally with some experience of care for people with CF.
  • Strong communication and organisational skills.
  • A flexible, team-oriented approach with a commitment to patient-centred care.
  • The ability to transport yourself and equipment across the locality during the course of a normal working day is required. Access to a vehicle that can be used for business purposes and hold a full and valid driving licence is required.
Benefits
  • We offer a range of benefits to support our staff including:
  • Access to the NHS Pension Scheme, providing generous benefits upon retirement, as well as a lump sum and pension for dependants
  • 27 days holiday rising to 33 days (depending on NHS Trust service)
  • A generous relocation package of up to 30% of salary (capped at £18k) to support relocation expenses for hard to fill positions where relocation would be an expectation to undertake the role fully. If you would like to discuss relocation, please speak to the recruiting department/manager.
  • A variety of paid and unpaid leave covering emergency and planned leave
  • Confidential advice and support on personal, work, family and relationship issues, 24/7, from our Employee Assistance Programme
  • NHS Car Lease scheme and Cycle to Work scheme
  • An extensive range of learning and development opportunities
  • Discounts on restaurants, getaways, shopping, motoring, cinema and finance from a range of providers
