Working for our organisation

We believe that using technology wisely shows strong time management and commitment to innovation. However, personalising your recruitment application to highlight your unique skills and experiences is crucial. Relying too heavily on generic, AI-generated content instead of drawing from your own strengths and accomplishments may lead to your application being rejected if multiple candidates present identical or similar information.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

These projects include reducing unnecessary intravenous medicines use through IV-to-oral antimicrobial and paracetamol switching programmes, supporting patients to transition from liquid medicines to tablets where clinically appropriate, and identifying further opportunities to improve the sustainability of medicines use. These initiatives are anticipated to deliver substantial savings while reducing the carbon footprint associated with healthcare delivery.

The post holder will provide specialist medicines management support, review patients to optimise medicines use, undertake audits, collect and analyse data, develop training materials, deliver education to clinical teams and support service improvement programmes. You will also contribute to policy development, implementation of standard operating procedures and ongoing quality improvement initiatives across the organisation.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a motivated technician who enjoys leading change, engaging clinical teams and using data to improve patient outcomes. You will have the chance to work on projects that directly support the Trust Green Plan, NHS Net Zero ambitions and the wider transformation agenda.

  • Opportunities to contribute to regional and system-wide sustainability initiatives.

Join us and help deliver safer, greener and more sustainable medicines use across Southampton and the wider Hampshire and Isle of Wight health system.
