Job description

Specialist Clinical Pharmacist, Emergency Admissions and Urgent Care Band 7

Would you like to work in a vibrant, forward-thinking Urgent Care setting? Do you want to advance your clinical pharmacy skills? Following the successful establishment of dedicated ward pharmacists in Urgent Care, including admissions and urgent care, we have a position for a specialist pharmacist.

You will work within a team of four pharmacists in urgent care, fully supported by three experienced band 8a advanced level pharmacists.

Ideally, you would be an independent prescriber, participating fully in consultant-led board rounds. If you do not meet all the essential criteria for this band 7 post, we may offer a band 6 to 7 progression with a supported training program.

We welcome applications from innovative, proactive pharmacists eager to join our dynamic team, contributing to our pharmacy ethos, advocating for pharmacy, and ensuring medicine safety.

This role is vital to the expanding development of DWP services within Urgent Care. You should be prepared to take on the responsibilities and challenges of a senior, innovative position within a busy clinical environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work with the Pharmacy Clinical Team to provide comprehensive pharmacy services throughout the locality.
  • Under the guidance of the Advanced Clinical Pharmacist, be accountable for medicines management in ED and Urgent Care for patients, staff, and the division.
  • Support the provision of specialist pharmacy services, including prescribing, VTE assessment, and developing initiatives.
Additional Responsibilities
  • Providing clinical and specialist pharmacist roles
  • Managing staff and service development
